Syracuse Firemen Celebrate GENERAL NEWS FEATURES Fifteen Syracuse, N. Y., firemen celebrated their fifteenth anniversary as members of the department with a reunion banquet as a “Dutch kitchen.” On Jan. 9, 1899, the Board of Fire Commissioners, composed of the late Hamilton S. White, J. M. Mcrtens, Labor Commissioner James M. Lynch and the late J. B. Vischer, appointed 18 men to the department. Of this number all are living except Michael Shcedy, John Weber and Thomas Ryan have since resigned. The members in the department at the present time are: Captain John Levins of Engine Company No. 9, Captain Charles Boynton of Truck Company No. 2 Captain Philip Eckle of Engine Company No. 4, Captain Edward Giesleman of Engine Company No. 1.
