Electrical Plant Fire at Nashville GENERAL NEWS FEATURES The contents and the building of the Southern Electric Company, 214 Third avenue, Nashville, Tenn., were totally destroyed by fire, breaking out about 8 p. m., Dec. 31, with a total loss of $45,000, of which amount $15,000 was on building and $30,000 on contents. The total value of property was $70,000. After the fire had been in progress some time a general alarm was sent in by Chief A. A. Rozetta, and all but three companies of the department responded. The fire had gained great headway by the time the firemen reached the scene, and their efforts were largely concentrated on saving adjoining buildings. Despite their efforts one building was badly damaged. The fire had gained a foothold on the second story before the firemen reached it. and soon the entire building was a great furnace of flames.
