COMMISSIONER ADAMSON ON FIRE PREVENTION IN NEW YORK Statement as to the Triangle and Other Fires and Methods to be Employed to Avoid Repetitions The third anniversary of the Triangle Shirt Waist fire was made the occasion by Fire Commissioner Robert Adamson, of New York, of a public commemoration to emphasize the importance of fire prevention. On the Sunday before the anniversary day, March 25, every minister in the city was asked to read to his congregation a letter recalling the Triangle disaster and impressing upon the people the obligation to observe all the simple rules which tend to prevent fires. On the day itself lire drills were held in factories and schools. The observance of the anniversary was still further extended by the circulation ot fire prevention literature by taxpayers and other civic organizations.
