FIRE DEPARTMENT DOINGS The Milwaukee, Wis., firemens’ pension fund amounts to $192,299, and its pension roll this year amounts to $53,981. Ex-Chief E. F. Croker and ex-Battalion Chief J. B. Conlon, of New York, are reorganizing the fire department of Clarksburg, W. Va. The breaking of an axle while crossing a railroad track en route to a fire, of Truck 1, of Donielson, Conn., resulted in six firemen being injured. Charles Bernard, who was chief of the Madison, Wis., fire department some years ago, died at a hospital in Rochester, Minn., May 17, aged 61 years. Geo. M. Chase, for more than 31 years a call member of Engine 2, Lynn, Mass., has reisgned for business reasons. He is a brother of Chief Chase. Capt. A. J.
