Ahrens-Fox Test at Cincinnati, O. An interesting test was made Wednesday of last week on one of Cincinnati’s largest skyscrapers. 34 stories high, with a Steam Fire Engine and an Ahrens-Fox Auto Fire Engine. During the test the steamer maintained a pressure at the engine of approximately 320 pounds, and the pressure at a l 1/8 inch smooth bore nozzle on the roof registered 58 pounds. The Ahrens-Fox Auto Engine maintained an even and steady pressure at the engine of approximately 350 pounds, in fact it was impossible to state the definite and exact pressure as the needle was way beyond the record mark of the gauge. The pressure on the roof at the nozzle (l 1/8)-inch smooth bore) from the Auto Engine registered 80 pounds. It was very noticeable during the test of the lack of vibration and the ease with which the Auto Engine did this wonderful work…
