Parade of Providence, R. I., Fire Department The entire Providence. R. I., fire department including every piece of apparatus and every man able to participate, paraded through the downtown section of the city June 18, and passed in review before the Fire Commissioners, State and city officials, at City Hall. During the parade three alarms were sent in, and every one of them was responded to promptly by motor apparatus. Every precaution had been taken during the procession. Thousands of persons swarmed upon Exchange place, and along the route of march to see the first parade of the department in 10 years. The parade lasted not over a half hour; the period for which temporary fire service was rendered was from 2 o’clock until about 4:15 P. M.
