To Double Water Supply at Enid The city commissioners of Enid., Okla , have under consideration a plan to increase the capacity of the water works fifty per cent, in order that the supply of water will be ample to supply the city and the Santa Fe and the Rock Island railroads. The system this year produced $18,000. The cost of operation, including the installation of the new boiler, which cost in the neighborhood of $1,000, and the setting of 85 meters, was $12,000. This leaves a profit for the system of $6,000. which is half the amount asked for the extension. The pumps are running to their capacity at present and every precaution has to be taken and a limit put on the heaviest consumers, such as the ice plants and packing houses, that the supply may not be exhausted.
