WATER NOTES The Peoria, avenue reservoir at Dixon, Ill., is being enlarged and elevated. The Lemmon, S. D., city commissioners are contemplating a complete new water system for the city. The new water system at Jackson, Miss., will, it is announced, be ready for operation by the middle of October, if not sooner. Reports from South Hadley, Mass., state the town will have to use the Leaping Well reservoir water soon if rains hold off, as the Battery Brook reservoir is lowering rapidly. Progress is being made on a water works at Mitchellville, la. A tank has been erected and the pumping equipment is on the ground. The work of drilling the well has not yet been completed. Because of drouth the mayor of Pontiac, Ill., has issued an order that sprinkling will not be permitted under any circumstances and that if the practice is continued by any consumer his…
