The East Liverpool Fire Department The East Liverpool, O., fire department, in command of Chief A. S. Aungst, is wholly motorized, and the accompanying illustration shows several pieces of apparatus and a portrait of its chief. The city has a population of about 25.000 and covers ten square miles. Last year there were 120 alarms with a total loss of $22,980.85. Thomas Bryan is assistant chief. The company captains are: William Terrence. William Rhue, Patrick Wood and Edward Hall, and there are five stations. This is the only city which purchased six pieces of motor apparatus and one chief’s car which completely motorized its fire department at one time. The cost of the department maintenance last year was $40,328.62. Recent-, ly the Ohio Inspection Bureau made an investigation of the conditions of the city. In their report they say: “Chief Arthur S.
