MOTOR FIRE APPARATUS Hackensack, N. J., is now all motorized. Kansas City, Mo., has purchased a Hale combination chemical and hose car. The two Ahrens-Fox pumping cars recently placed in service at San Antonio, Tex., are equipped with Sewell cushion wheels. The Lawrence Fire Company, of Old Forge, Pa., has received its new American-La France triple combination car. The new tractor-drawn ladder truck recently received by Syracuse, N. Y., was successfully tested on the hilly and snow-covered streets of the city. The upkeep cost of the three pieces of motor apparatus in use at Colorado Springs, Col., was only $10.07 in one year, while that of one horse-drawn wagon was $21.66 for the same period. In line with Commissioner Charles S. Owen’s policy of motor apparatus for the Rochester, N. Y., fire department, the Board of Contract and Supply, at the request of the commission, authorized the secretary to advertise…
