Holyoke Fire Report The Holyoke, Mass., fire department responded to 477 alarms during the year and the total loss was about $215,000, according to the report of Chief J. T. Lynch just issued. The loss amounts to $131,044 more than for the year preceding, due to four large fires, which caused a loss of over $150,000. Attention is called to the fact that 76 fires were set by mischievous boys and it is urged that something be done to put a stop to this. Attention is called to the necessity of the department being given right of way on the streets after an alarm has been sounded. The purchase of two new automobile chemical and hose wagons and 3,000 feet of 2!4-inch hose is recommended. The balance of last year with the appropriation and receipts amounted to $133,177.
