FIRE DEPARTMENT DOINGS From reports covering the United States and Canada the estimated losses by fire during the week ending March 15, 1915, aggregated $2,492,000 as compared with $5,455,000 for the corresponding week in 1914. The firemen of Denver have started a movement for the two-platoon system. The Augusta, Ga., firemen are to wear khaki uniforms this summer. The Cleveland firemen are to receive medals for bravery. A two-platoon bill is now before the New Jersey Legislature. The Fire Board of Detroit is considering a plan to pay the firemen while sick. Fire Commissioner McGrath, of Floboken, N. J., is not to be a candidate for re-election. Schenectady, N. Y., had 29 fires during February, causing a loss of about $0,000. Fire Commissioner Simon Seibert, of Buffalo, N.
