South Bend Motor Car Works The South Bend Motor Car Works, South Bend, Ind., are sending into foreign territory a piece of fire apparatus to Australia and a high powered ambulance, which goes to the warring nations for demonstration purposes. The concern is just finishing a 40 horse power police patrol for the city of Gary, Ind., which has a carriage capacity of twelve persons on the inside and three on the drivers seat, with a speed of 35 miles. Within the next 30 days the concern will deliver to the city of Manitowoc, Wis., a combination hose and chemical car, propelled by a 95 horse power motor, equipped with a draw bar for the purpase of towing the steam engine which the city of Manitowoc now has in use.
