ADJUSTING RATES FOR ROCKAWAY. In referring to an order issued by Commissioner Williams of the New York City Department of Water Supply, Gas and Electricity, directing the Queens County Water Company to decrease rates to private consumers in the Rockaways, the Rockaway “News” in an editorial, calls attention that: “In justice to the Queens County Water Company, it must be stated that while the reduced rate will, to some extent, curtail the annual return, the officials and stockholders are in entire accord with the adjustment made by Commissioner Williams,” and continues “It has never been the intent of the company at any time to impose a hardship upon the consumers, and at no time has the return upon the capital invested been beyond the limit of fairness.
