WATER WORKS NEWS ITEMS William Carman has been appointed superintendent of the Hawthorne, N. J., water works. Work of installing a new $80,000 water works system at Winnsboro, N. C., has been commenced. William T. Jenkins has resigned as chief engineer of the Wheeling, W. Va., Water department. Frank O. Lee has been appointed city engineer and superintendent of the Barre, Vt., water department. Frank Le Cocq has been appointed city engineer of Aberdeen, S. D. He will be in charge of the water and sewer departments. The Winona (Ind.) Water and Light Company is erecting a new pumping station. Two wells have been sunk and a third is planned. Work has been completed on the new $100,000 municipal water plant at Riverhead, L. I. The big tank has a capacity of 169,000 gallons.
