WATER IMPROVEMENTS FOR OSHKOSH. The commission council of Oshkosh, Wis., according to reports from that city, is considering plans for the improvement of the city water works system. It is not expected that all features included in the plans now under consideration will be needed for some years to come, but plans are being made to provide for all future needs so as to have all units conform. Colonel Henry A. Allen, of Chicago, consulting engineer, has submitted to the council plans which call for a new filtration plant of 4,000,000 gallons daily capacity and to cost approximately $100,000 as the first improvement. Later this may be doubled and a new pumping station and new intake pipe will be installed. The plans submitted by Colonel Allen provide for a new building to be erected to the west of the present reservoir and to the northwest of the present pumping station.…
