New Chief at Erie

Issue 9 and Volume 58.

New Chief at Erie J. M. Duerner, who has been assistant chief of the Erie, Pa., fire department, has been promoted to the position of chief, which was made vacant by the death of Chief John J. McMahon. Chief Duerner, who is 72 years old, has been in the department for forty-five years and has been assistant chief since 1893. Captain M. J. Cronin has been promoted to be assistant chief of the department.
