The Evansville Fire Department “The fire department is in good shape and is well managed. The discipline is first class under the able supervision of Chief Dunlevy and his assistants, Wilder and Carter,” says Mayor Benjamin Bosse, of Evansville, Ind., in his annual message to the Common Council, presenting the city reports for the year 1914. The Mayor adds: “Every member of the department is working to the same common end to see how quick a fire can be put out, when an alarm is sounded. The fire losses for 1914 are the least that they have been for many years past and in my estimation much credit for this is due to the new auto service in the department, To that end I respectfully recommend that your honorable body assist the Board of Public Safety in motorizing our entire fire department as quickly as it is possible to do…
