Buildings in Lockport Destroyed Two buildings, approximately 150 feet square, belonging to the Fibre Corporation, the largest industry of Lockport, N. Y., owned by the H. W. Johns-Manville Co., were destroyed by fire on December 26th. They had just been reconstructed from the ruins of a fire which occurred on May 12 last, burning to the ground buildings which had stood on the same spot, at a loss of $125,000. The loss from the recent fire was estimated at $75,000. The entire fire department was summoned, but the buildings were enveloped and the heat so intense as tohinder the firemen. In two hours’ time the buildings and contents were in ashes. Several explosions occurred when flames reached oil tanks.
