One Day Off in Four in Denver

Issue 2 and Volume 59.

One Day Off in Four in Denver The firemen of Denver, Colo., have received a redurtion of service to one day out of every four instead of one day out of five. The men were on duty twenty-four hours a day under the old arrangement and off only seventy-two days in each year. The new plan, which went into effect January 1st, gives them ninety-one days off in the year. Commissioner Nisbet believes that the change will result in an increase in the efficiency of the department in that it will keep the men in better spirits. He also says: “The men will be able to do better work and they are certainly entitled to the change.”
