FIRE DEPARTMENT DOINGS According to the report of Chief Doud, the fire loss for Peru, Ind., for 1915, was $8,050. Chief Murphy, of Philadelphia, has provided his eleven battalion chiefs with motor runabouts, replacing horses and buggies. Work of installing the new Gamewell fire alarm system in the headquarters at Tampa, Fla., has been completed and the system is now in perfect working order. Chief Laibe, of Ottawa, O., reports that during 1⅛15, property loss from fires was greatly diminished in that city, amounting to only $249 as a result of a total of 18 fires. The front wheel of an aerial truck was smashed recently, caused by skidding, at Brockton, Mass. The good judgment of Tillerman Hackett saved a more serious accident. Commissoners of Batavia, N.
