FIRE DEPARTMENT DOINGS The new fire hall at Rapid City, S. D., is practically completed. A fire in the business district of Franklin, Pa., caused a loss of $100,000. The City of Marshall, Tex., has placed an order for an $8,500 motor pumping engine. Commissioners of Bayonne, N. J., on January 26, appointed 13 hosemen to the service. Albion, Mich., is to have a full paid department consisting of 4 men under Chief Fred Griswold. The Firemen’s Relief Association, of New Castle, Pa., reports a balance on hand of nearly $1,800. A new fire house has been completed, at Phoenix, Ariz. A Gamewell fire alarm system will be installed. It is proposed to merge the two fire companies at Morrisville, Pa., and have both under the direction of one chief. The City Water Board of Madison, Wis., has recommended that a superintendent of water works be appointed at a salary…
