LITIGATION At Madison, Wis., an opinion has been given by Attorney-General Owen to the Secretary of State that the laws of Wisconsin for the licensing and regulation of auto vehicles are not applicable to such vehicles owned by municipalities and in use by fire and police departments in the discharge of their official duties. The city of Boston has brought suit for $600,000 against the Hyde Park Water Company in connection with the long-standing controversy between the old town of Hyde Park and the company. The suit is to recover the $416,000 paid by the town of Hyde Park for the plant of the company, plus $100,000 alleged to have been received for water during the years the town and company were in controversy on the price to be paid for the plant.
