Improved Fire Alarm System Urged for Massillon Chief Burkle, of Massillon, Ohio, has recommended that the city take steps to improve its fire alarm system by installing more modem equipment, dividing the present system into more circuits and that the wires be placed underground wherever possible. These recommendations were made in Chief Burkle’s annual report to Safety Director F. W. Justus. The present fire alarm system includes 44 boxes and about 21 miles of wire. These are divided into three circuits with circuits two and three covering a large territory in the factory districts. Chief Burkle, in his report urges an inner loop so that there would be a box on one circuit if the other was impaired.
