QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS The following questions were among those asked at the extension courses of the New York Fire College, with answers by fire department engineers: Question: You respond to a fire in a public school. You are in command of a hook and ladder company. On approaching the school you see that the fire is on the third floor; the children are being dismissed from the structure by the various stairways. What would you do under the circumstances, first, as to getting the children out of the building; second, as to the raising and placing of ladders for the use of engine companies already stretching in?
