AMERICAN WATER WORKS ASSOCIATION. The thirty-sixth annual convention of the American Water Works Association now in progress in the city of New York opened under favorable auspices on the fifth instant. The fact that the association is meeting in the great metropolis brought many early arrivals and judging by the large attendance from all parts of the country the meeting should be a very great success. As usual a report of the convention will appear in this journal. Perusal of the program shows the wide field covered by the papers and discussions and the thoroughness devoted to important questions.
