Fire Damages Revere Beach Buildings Shortly before midnight recently, Chief Kimball and the Revere, Mass., Department were called out to Revere Beach to fight a fire which menaced a block of buildings, most of which were constructed of wood. That but four of these structures were damaged, was entirely owing to the efficiency of Chief Kimball and his department. The fire originated at the 1 1/2-story building occupied by Gordon’s circus side show. Because of the construction of the building, the flames spread with great rapidity, so that upon the department’s arrival the whole structure was ablaze. From there it spread to wooden buildings on both sides, damaging the Sleepers Hotel, the Merriwa Hotel and another building. The blaze was stopped at the Merriwa Hotel, a 3 1/2story wooden building, after 2 hours and 45 minutes work. The loss on the buildings was $10,000 and that on the contents, consisting…
