Chief William F. Daley of Brockton Chief William F. Daley, who has recently been appointed chief of the Brockton, Mass., fire department, succeeding the late Chief Harry L. Marston, was born in Boston, Mass., on April 19, 1875, and removed to Brockton on October 3, 1884. He was appointed on the call force and assigned to Engine No. 2 on December 1, 1892, and in 1894 was appointed a call lieutenant. He was appointed call captain of Engine No. 2 in 1895. Mr. Daley was appointed to the permanent force and assigned to Engine No. 2 in August 13, 1898, and was appointed permanent captain, Engine No. 2, February 21, 1903. On February 2, 1907, he was appointed first assistant chief. He was transferred to “Squad A,” headquarters, on December 20, 1909.
