The Argenta Water Improvement District Project

The Argenta Water Improvement District Project Chancellor J. E. Martineau has declared that the formation of the Water Works Improvement District No. 1, of Argenta, Ark., was illegal, because of a delay in filing the petition asking for its organization. The district was created by the council several months ago. Mayor James P. Faucette, John Sullivan and E. A. Ramsey were elected commissioners. All steps for the creation of the district had been taken. The district was formed for the purpose of taking over the pipe line and plant of the Arkansaw Water Company in Argenta. It gave the commissioners authority to issue bonds not to exceed $500,000, maturing over a period of 25 years.
