Reservoir Project at Lansing

Issue 2 and Volume 60.

Reservoir Project at Lansing Relative to the proposed $150,000 bond issue for the construction of a new reservoir, Mayor Reutter, of Lansing, Mich., recently stated, in part: “The reserve water storage planned by the board is very badly needed. Our water situation, owing to the tremendous growth of the city, has become critical. We must make preparations and at once to meet the situation. With a reserve reservoir that can be filled nights when little water is being consumed in the city, we can get along nicely for some time yet. But we have too much at stake not to meet the problem squarely. A plentiful water supply means fire protection and our properties are too valuable to leave but partially protected. We have an efficient fire department, but a fire department without water is no more effective than a gun without bullets.”
