Garage Partially Destroyed by Fire at Erie An early morning fire at Frie, Pa., recently resulted in the partial destruction of the Model Garage. This building was valued at $7 000, while its contents of automobiles, supplies, etc., was valued at $75,000. The loss on the building amounted to $3,500 and that on the contents, to $50,000. The department responded quickly to the first alarm, but the fire had spread so rapidly through highly inflammable contents of the garage that, upon its arrival, the whole building was ablaze The firemen, under the capable direction of Chief J. M, Dueruer and Assistant Chief Cronin, extinguished the flames in about one hour’s time, the excellent work of the department preventing the complete destruction of the garage.
