FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING S. J. Williams, building inspector of the Wisconsin Industrial Commission, recently made an address at the Commercial Club, Superior, Wis., in which he said: “Buildings that were put up in the boom days of Superior are fire hazards, but those which have been erected during recent years are as good as any I have seen in Wisconsin. It is through the foresight of Fire Chief Johnson in improving the construction of buildings here under the State code that Superior has escaped a far more serious fire loss than she has.” After the lecture L. A. Nichols, board of education, obtained from Mr. Williams suggestions for better fire protection in Superior schools and eliminating some of the hazards.
