Buildings Destroyed at Prestonburg

Issue 5 and Volume 60.

Buildings Destroyed at Prestonburg A severe fire occurred at Prestonburg, Ky., recently, during the course of which many business buildings and dwellings were destroyed. The town of Prestonburg has neither water works nor fire department, so the citizens were obliged to fight the flames by means of buckets. The blaze was finally extinguished after practically all the houses in the block were destroyed. The fire started from an unknown cause at about midnight. Among the buildings destroyed were a bank, a hotel, a barber shop and several dwellings.
