METERAGE According to a Milwaukee, Wis., newspaper there are now over 1,700 meters in use at West Allis, Wis., whereas about five years ago there were somewhere between 700 and 800 in use. The Lenox (Mass.) Water Company has ordered more meters in order to add to the number of metered services. The meters already set have, it is stated, resulted in a saving of water. Commissioner J. G. Crumbliss, of Knoxville, Tenn., states that the great receipts from water at Knoxville tor the past quarter are due to the fact that meters have been installed in many places where large consumers formerly paid on a flat rate. General Manager A. G. Wishon, of the Fresno City Water Company, Fresno, Cal., acting upon a report of twelve inspectors, has ordered 500 meters and upon arrival of the shipment the maiority will be set in homes where it is claimed that…
