Fire in Business Section of Tonawanda On August 2 fire occurred at the 2 1/2-story wooden barns of O. H. Gordon, situated in the business section of Tonawanda, N. Y., and spread rapidly, manacing many nearby business buildings. Upon his arrival, Chief C. Grover Rech, of the Tonawanda Department, found that the flames had gained great headway, two business buildings, a dwelling and several barns having caught fire. Chief Rech and his men fought the blaze with great skill, and due to their efficient efforts and the aid rendered by Chief Docbler, of North Tonar wanda, and his department, the further spread of the flames was checked. In appreciation of the work of the Tonawanda and North Tonawanda departments, Zuckmaier Brothers, whose furniture establishment was damaged, had the following notice printed in a TonaWanda newspaper: “We wish to thank Chief Grover Rech and Chief Charles Doebler and all other members…
