Death of Isaac Belknap Markey Isaac Belknap Markey, Vice-President of the Eureka Fire Hose Manufacturing Company, died at his residence, No. 10 Montgomery place, Brooklyn, on November 7, and he will be mourned by a host of friends in the fire department circles. Mr. Markey was in his eightyfourth year, having been born in Little Britain, Orange County, N. Y., on April 14, 1833. He was a resident of Jersey City, N. J., for many years, moving from mere to Brooklyn. Mr. Markey, who was universally known as “Uncle Ike,” bad been actively connected with the sale of fire hose longer than any one else in the trade, a period of forty-five years, and he had a wide acquaintance among fire department and other city officials throughout the country and it may be said that he was a “Nestor of the Trade.” He was an associate member of the International…
