THE DETROIT WATER DISTRICT PROJECT. In Detroit a plan is under consideration to form a metropolitan water district, embracing all of Wayne County east of the River Rouge, and supplying purer water and more effective sewage disposal means for the one million inhabitants of Detroit and its environs. This project was recently the subject of discussion at a meeting of which was attended by Detroit members of the Legislature, the Board of Commerce Committee, City Council Committeemen and others interested. The plan is strongly advocated by Alex Dow, of the Water Board, and the board adopted a resolution which was sent to the Charter Committee of the City Council. To make the project possible the City Council must approve the plan and the Legislature must pass an enabling act, and it was stated that the full engineering details of the plan would not be worked out until the exact wording…
