PERSONALS W. P. B. Gery, of Alburtis, Pa., has been appointed as a forest fire warden by George H. Wirt, chief forest fire warden of Pennsylvania. Frank Kroll, who received the provis:onal appointment of superintendent of equipment in the fire department in Cincinnati, Ohio, won in the competitive examination and will, it is stated, receive the regular appointment. Harry Seidenspinner will receive the appointment as assistant. Foreman Martin Reddington also will be an assistant. Richard H. Johns, president of the fire board of Baltimore, Md., died suddenly on November 13. Deputy Chief L. H. Burkhardt and five district engineers were pallbearers at the funeral. In a general order to the department the board said: “In the death of Mr. Johns the Fire Department of Baltimore has lost a most loyal, efficient and ainstaking official, whose whole thought was for the welfare of the department generally.
