FIRE DEPARTMENT DOINGS The new fire engine at Fredericksburg, Pa., is completed and the company has moved in. Extensive improvements are to be made in the west side engine house of De Pere, Wis. A fire in the $350,000 flour mill of the AkinErskine Milling Company, of Evansville, Ind., caused damage of about $15,000 to the stock. Mayor Edgerton, of Rochester, N. Y., has recommended better fire protection and suggests the erection of a new fire house. The fire department of Philadelphia, Pa., is to erect a patrol garage and a fire house at Huntington Park. The City Commission of Salt Lake City, Utah, has passed an order requiring the installation of fire call boxes in the school buildings. The City Council of Erie, Pa., has recently voted an increase of $15 a month to the firemen. The raise was given to the firemen in accordance with their request. The…
