WATER WORKS NEWS ITEMS The city of Defiance, Ohio, now owns its own water plant. The Gowanda Water Works Company, of Gowanda, N. Y., is drilling more wells in order to offset a water famine in that city. Chester & Fleming, hydraulic engineers, Pittsburgh, Pa., are preparing plans and estimates for a reservoir to be installed for the municipal water supply at Danville, Pa., in the near future. The village board of La Moille, Ill., has let a contract to F. E, Eggers of that city for installing a new strainer in the wall and make other necessary repairs with a view to increasing the supply of water. More than $30,000 has been expended recently in extending and developing the water system of Pocatello, Idaho. An additional $300,000 has been raised by bonds for making much needed improvements and extensions in the city water works system. The municipal water works…
