Campaign in Pana for Motor Apparatus The Pana, Ill., fire department will probably shortly be equipped with a motor fire truck, the women in the city taking a prominent part in the movement to secure up-to-date equipment when Chief George W. Searles pointed out the city’s need to them. On a recent Sunday morning, at 1,30 a. m., two young men lost their fives when their home was burned. The fire department did not have a suitable team to respond to fires with, one of the horses balking at the start and if the department had had a motor truck it is believed that beyond question the firemen could have saved the young men. When this did not result in the city council providing the department with Letter equipment, Chief Searles took the matter before the woman’s club of the city and made an appeal to them as mothers, daughters…
