WATER WORKS NEWS ITEMS The city council of Niagara Falls, N. Y., has increased the pay of all water employees. The water department report for January of Alliance, Ohio, shows the receipts to be unusually large and as follows: Rentals, flat rate, $9,329.17; rentals, metered water, $9,140.99; sale of water, $3; service permits, $208.68; sale of junk, $2.76; total, $18,684.60. According to a local paper Superintendent Weismer, of the water department of Marion, Ind., states that the city would be endangered in case of a large fire because the entire capacity of the wells there is taken by the normal demand and no reserve supply can be built up. Two new wells will be dug at once. The water works commission of Beaumont, Tex., recently decided to extend water mains to reach all residents of the city.
