WATER RATES The water commissioners of Gardner, Mass., according to reports, will not revise the water rates until the system has been completely completed in about two years. According to the annual report of the board of public works of Pittsfield, Mass., the water board recommends that the amount of discount on water rates be reduced from 20 to 10 per cent. which would increase the revenue from water by $13,000. The recommendation differs from that of the tax collector as he would have the discount rate reduced to 10 per cent, but would have the rates adjusted so the amount paid by the consumer within the period for discount would be the same as at present.
