Fire at Belmont Race Track The Belmont Park Race Track property on Long Island, N. Y., was recently damaged by fire. Apparatus was called from Jamaica, Queens, Elmhurst, and other points and Brooklyn was asked for aid. Deputy Chief Lally, of Brooklyn, handled the fire very skilfully despite headway of the flames and succeeded in saving the main club house, stables and some other structures. The Jockey Club House, the grand stand and the railroad terminal building were damaged about $175,000.
