FILTRATION Plans for improvements to the water system of Lynchburg, Va., which include filtration and aeration, will be completed shortly after which they will be sent to the State Board of Health for approval. Upon permit to do the work, the city will offer $360,000 in 30-year bonds for sale to provide for the cost of the work. According to a local paper a filtration plant to supply the city of Sacramento, Cal., with clear water from the Sacramento river will cost $607,302, according to figures submitted to the city commission by Mr. John Pierce Hill. Mr. Hill now has a model filtration plant in working order on the banks of the river near the Pioneer mills. The figures submitted by Mr. Hill do hot include the annexed territory and he estimates that if the annexed territory is to be supplied it will require an addition $150,000. This amount of…
