Fire Prevention Work in Canton Chief R. O. Mesnar of the Canton, Ohio, fire department is conducting well planned fire prevention work in that city. On April 1 he divided the city into three separate districts and started a house to house inspection by firemen. Every building in the city will be inspected from basement to attic and a record kept of the time of building, number of stories, construction of same, kind of roof and material of which roof is constructed; also a record is kept of the condition of the building at the time of the inspection. A report is made to Chief Mesnar every night by the inspectors and where conditions are found be be bad he makes a personal visit, notifying tenants and owners of buildings to comply with state and city regulations governing the same.
