THE POSTPONED CONVENTION. The decision announced in last week’s issue to indefinitely postpone the convention of the International Association of Fire Engineers, which was to have taken place in the city of Jacksonville, Fla., next October, was what might be expected in view of the national emergency. For one thing, it is not known how many members of the Association might be called to military duty and thus be unable to attend the meeting this year, and for another there is much for the chiefs to do in their home cities at this time. In fact, this may be said to be the time of all others for home work of an instructive and fire preventive character.
