Olean Water Plans

Issue 23 and Volume 61.

Olean Water Plans The board of water commissioners of Olean, N. Y., have decided to ask; the State Conservation Commission for permission to take water from the Olean creek for the use of manufacturers to meet the city’s rapidly increasing industrial and domestic needs. It may later be found advisable to install a filtration plant and use the water for household purposes, but the project has not yet been gone over thoroughly. The Pennsylvania Railroad Company uses a large amount of water and only a few months ago it was found necessary to request that corporation to curtail its consumption in order to avoid a water famine which appeared to be imminent.
