WATER RATES At Vermilion, O., the water rates have been raised forty per cent, to meet the extra cost of maintenance. The Citizens of Bethlehem, Pa., are dissatisfied at the proposition to increase rates from 60 to 110 per cent, and threaten to take the matter to the State Public Service Comission. A local paper of Sandusky, O., says the city commission proposes to raise water rates but before carrying out the plan the Sandusky Has & Electric Company proposed to purchase the plant at a price to be fixed by appraisers and the company is to maintain the present rates.
