Waterbury Has Six Garage Fires The fire department of Waterbury, Conn., had another bad garage fire to contend with on the 24th of July when the plant on Brown street, conducted by Frank Peters, was only saved from total destruction by the energetic efforts of Chief Henry H. Heitman and his men. The garage is located in close proximity to one of the biggest carriage establishments in the city, O’Neill & Warner, and the Poli Theatre, and notwithstanding the great headway the flames had made, the department was able to keep the fire confined to the garage itself, the greater part of which was saved. At the time the fire broke out, there were 12 automobiles in the place, and of this number seven were saved.
